About the Event
The Covid-19 pandemic led to lockdown of many activities, most business operations affected, and individuals and families went into self-isolation, and practicing social distancing, spending much time at home with little to do. Faced with uncertainties and not knowing when the situation will be over, people are genuinely worried about what the future holds for them, their families and careers, especially those people whose employment, income stream, and career plans have been affected by the lockdown. Some people lost opportunity to complete vital training, or apprenticeship, to increase the chance of finding a new role. We know that being in this situation can lead to anxiety and worry, which may be making individuals to feel under pressure, and stressed with risk to their mental health and wellbeing.Â
At Baseline Careers, we recognise the need to support our network and others, to minimise these negative effects on mental health and wellbeing, and help anyone in this situation, to remain positive, and respond positively to any stressful situation that may be making them feel under pressure, anxious or overwhelmed. Â We believe that providing the right support may enable any individual experiencing a stressful situation to strengthen their resolve, and avoid being caught up in negative thoughts, and instead, to stay positive in the moment, and use the opportunity to strengthen ties with friends and family, and learn new skills.Â
This training session is being arranged for anyone and everyone in the Baseline Network who would like an opportunity to catch up with others, to have a social chat and swop ideas to stay positive in this challenging time.Â
The training will use psychophysiology research insights to increase our understanding of stress, how our body responds to stress and we ought to perceive and respond to stress, to reduce any negative impact on our mental health and wellbeing.
